About Pinemeadow Golf:
Founded in 1985 and located in Portland, Oregon, Pinemeadow Golf was one of the first companies to focus on building “legal clones” or “knock-offs” in the golf industry. Just like the computer, automobile, and fashion industries, golf is an industry of product leaders and product followers. Pinemeadow is a “smart follower.” They look at what is hot and analyze whether it really works as advertised and then tend to follow the concept at a much less expensive but no less effective result. Clones are not to be confused with the branded products they may seek to flatter, but they are made from essentially the same materials and design principles, use many of the same shaft and grip suppliers, and perform similarly to (or even better than) the name brands.

Pinemeadow buys its heads, shafts, and grips from the same small community of golf manufacturing foundries and suppliers as higher priced competitors, providing the same performance at a better value. Pinemeadow keeps the price of its products down by eliminating the costs associated with advertising, avoiding the overhead associated with excess management, and cutting out middlemen in the form of fancy retail environments. The amount actually spent for research and development by the golf club industry is not nearly as large as the money spent for advertising and the retail markups. Up 70 percent of the cost on brand name products goes to support advertising, and the majority of retailers mark up their products by 60 to 100 percent from the wholesale purchase price. Pinemeadow offers its products factory direct to save the consumer money.

A Bullseye-styled putter that is worth the money, September 10, 2012

I first purchased my Bullseye putters in the 1970′s and use them to this day. Recently my daughters exhibited some interest in playing golf; so, I purchased two of the Pinemeadow putters for them. They love the putters as do I. I like this putter because it enables me to putt either left or right-handed–because I don’t like to putt through my standing shadow. The putters are much lighter than the putters marketed today; yet,I believe this type of putter gives me a better feel of the ball and allows me to guage the force necessary to make putts of varying distances more accurately. I used to have a “scratch” handicap but age has driven that up a little bit as I no longer hit the ball as far as I once did; but my putting is as good as ever. This is an exceptionally well-made putter for the price! I would recommend it.

    affordable classic, August 17, 2012

This putter is a classic. The blade is a replica of the Wilson Augusta brass putter, but the grip is a perforated faux leather wrap, which I prefer to other grip types. The only putting aid on this club is a white line atop the blade. The putting surface is completely smooth, with no insert or milling or scoring. This is a toe-weighted putter — balance it on a finger, and the toe points directly downward. It certainly isn’t a modern style that looks like something looted from a space ship, and that is why I like it so much. Basic, simple, classic. And at a very appealing price.

This putter is a wonderful find. It has a very solid feel and the ball rolls smoothly and true to the stroke put on it. The price and style are what attracted me and the results will keep me with it.
